I am a director of photography based in London. I grew up in South Africa, and after moving to Australia at the age of 25, attended Griffith Film School, where I completed a Bachelor of Film & Screen Media.
I started working on smaller music videos and short films after graduating, gradually progressing to commercials and promos in Australia. I moved to London in 2014 and continued working, establishing and building relationships in the UK.
I became a full member of the Australian Cinematographers society in 2012 and was awarded ACS accreditation in 2019.
I completed principle photography on my debut feature film, A Good Woman Is Hard To Find, at the end of 2018 which premiered in London August 2019 and secured distribution in the UK, USA, Germany and Australia.
I am creative thinker and problem solver, focusing on ways of achieving the director’s vision.
I am a freelance DOP in the UK and am on the constant lookout new and exciting projects to work on as well as creative filmmakers to collobate with.
"At the same time, this potent little thriller (photographed by Richard Bell using Grand Guignol bursts of sticky red and impenetrable black) is careful to remind us regularly of Sarah’s tender side." - The New York Times
